School Closing Announcement Procedure

Dear LVCS Family,

In the event of severe weather and there might be questions as to whether the school should be open, here is the procedure.

If the school is not going to be open that day, the Principal will be notified by a Keneseth Center staff first. Upon receiving the message, the Principal will notify teachers and the President of the Parents/Students Association. The President of the Parents/Students Association will then contact room parents. Room parents should contact parents in her/his class to make sure parents get the message.

We are also hoping to get the message posted on our LVCS website. Ronald is in talks with our webmaster to see if we can do the updates from our end to cut short the wait time for the message to be posted.

If you have any question regarding the procedure, let me know.

Principal Huang

First Day of School

Dear LVCS Family,

Hope everyone has had an enjoyable, relaxing summer. The LVCS fall semester will begin on Sunday September 11 at 2 PM. We will have parents meeting and a brief introduction of the board members.

For those of you who have registered your kid(s) for the fall class(es) and paid, we thank you. For those of you who planned to have your kid(s) or yourself enrolled in class(es) but have not done so, please send an email to me with a copy to Secretary Elise Hong to indicate your interest and which grade for the student. We are in the process of finalizing class offerings and if we do not have enough students for a class we might opt for not offering the class. Therefore, your timely response on this matter is critical for the benefits of the students and the teachers.

This semester, we plan to include culture component into the course curriculum and use the 3rd hour for culture-related events that bring the LVCS family closer together. Bring your suggestions and thoughts to the parents meeting for a fruitful discussion. We hope to enhance the learning experience with fun, exciting activities, and to help students learn better.

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to meeting you all on Sunday September 11.

Best,

Principal Tai-Yin Huang
